Cynthia Chau, PA-C

Board-certified Physician Associate (PA-C)

More about Cynthia Chau!

Cynthia Chau is a board-certified Physician Associate (PA-C) who is pleased to return to the practice that played an important role in the beginning of her healthcare career. Prior to PA school, she worked in this clinic as a Medical Assistant, gaining valuable hands-on experience performing allergy and immunology testing, including allergy skin testing, pulmonary function testing, fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) testing using NIOX, and patch testing for chemical sensitivities. This experience helped build a strong foundation in allergy diagnostics and patient care.

Furthermore, during her final year of PA school at Shenandoah University, Cynthia chose to complete a clinical rotation at Watergate & McLean Allergy and Asthma Centers, where her clinical preceptor was Suad Nsouli, Nurse Practitioner specializing in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. During this time, she further developed her clinical skills and knowledge in allergy and immunologic conditions.

After graduating and passing her PA board certification, Cynthia returned to join the practice. Upon starting, she also completed an informal Allergy and Immunology fellowship-style training with Dr. Nsouli, where she gained additional experience and learned many of his valuable clinical insights in the field of allergy and immunology.

Cynthia enjoys helping patients and families better understand and manage their allergy conditions. Her clinical interests include allergic skin conditions, chronic urticaria (hives), and the evaluation and management of medication and environmental allergies. She is known for her warm, approachable, and patient-centered style of care, and strives to ensure patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their treatment.

Ms. Chau provides medical services under Dr. Nsouli’s active supervision, who is available for real-time consultation and carefully reviews all medical services provided. With her assistance, the practice is able to extend office hours in both the McLean and Washington, D.C. offices while maintaining the high level of care patients expect.
